Onion Pakoda or Pakora




Home made onion pakoda


Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 to 20 minutes



Ingredients:

Onion- 4 no's (big ones)
Besan Flour- 250 gms
All purpose Flour-250 gms
Rice Flour-200 gms
Chilli Powder- Required Quantity (If you like it hot add accordingly)
Asofoetida Powder-2 Teaspoons
Refined oil-300 gms
Salt to taste

Procedure:
  1. Slice the onions in a longitudinal fashion 
  2. Add all the flours,chilli powder,asofoetida and salt
  3. Mix well and add little water to make it into a thick paste
  4. Heat sufficient refined oil in a pan and deep  fry the onion pakora mixture by spreading it in the oil
  5. Take the fried pakoras and serve it with hot and sweet sauce or coconut chutney
Note: You can also add little sambhar powder to enhance the flavor and taste to the mix and lime can be added after frying the pakoras.

This serves 3 people and goes well during rainy season with hot coffee or tea.
